To encourage and support outstanding young researchers who have achieved notable innovative results in metabolic engineering and related interdisciplinary fields, Xingsai Biotechnology Co., Ltd., in collaboration with the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, is pleased to establish the "Xingsai Metabolic Engineering Young Scientist Award" on the occasion of the Metabolic Engineering Summit 2026 (MES2026).

Founded in 2014 and incubated by the Single-Cell Center of the Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the high-tech company Xingsai Biotechnology is a dedicated to providing solutions for functional analysis and sorting of live single-cell metabolism. The company focuses on using innovative Ramanome technology to characterize single-cell metabolic phenotype information and mine functional cellular resources in situ. This award responds to the national call for scientific and technological innovation, supporting young scientists to pursue frontier research, address major national needs, and promote industrial transformation through original innovation in metabolic engineering and synthetic biology.

Professional qualification: Applicants must be active researchers in metabolic engineering, synthetic biology, biomanufacturing, or closely related fields.

Age limit: Young Scientists with no more than 40 years old.

Degree requirement: A doctoral degree must have been obtained.

This year, five awards will be presented, each with a prize of RMB 5,000. The MES2026 Organizing Committee will form an evaluation panel to select the final winners based on the submitted application materials.

(1) Application

•  Dates: July 20, 2026 – September 10, 2026

• Required materials:

(i). Completed Application Form for the Xingsai Metabolic Engineering Young Scientist Award (template in Appendix 1)

(ii). Curriculum vitae

(iii). Supporting documents of representative achievements (e.g., first pages of papers, patent certificates, technology transfer proofs, etc.)

(2) Review (September 15, 2026 - October 15, 2026)

• The conference organizing committee will compile all applications and conduct a formal eligibility check.

• The review committee will evaluate the applications based on innovativeness, academic value, and application potential. A shortlist will be determined, and finalists will be notified via email and phone.

(3) Award Ceremony (October 18-22, 2026)

• The award certificate presentation ceremony will be held during the MES2026 conference. Winners will receive a certificate of honor and the prize money.

(1) Academic exchange: Invitation to attend MES2026 and deliver an oral presentation.

(2) Technology collaboration: Priority access to joint R&D opportunities, instrument trial use, and industrial cooperation with Xingsai Biotechnology and its partners.

(3) Publicity: Special promotional coverage of the awardees and their research achievements on the Xingsai Biotechnology website, partner media, and official MES2026 channels.
